Facebook Ads are what we find business owners tend to struggle with the most (and quite understandably too!).
Learning Facebook Ads is not a simple task. There is always going to be a substantial amount of time and effort involved, and constant testing and measuring required. There is also always going to be updates you need to stay on top of.

1. HAVE APPEALING VISUAL CONTENT.

 

Any images or video(s) included in ads you create need to be visually appealing because not only are they likely to be more noticed, they also display the overall essence and vibe of your brand.
Please do not make the mistake, however, of thinking you “must have professional photography” as many business owners who come to us as leads have unfortunately been incorrectly advised.

It is not about every photo looking perfect and staged, it is about them looking appealing for your ideal target audience. We find adding personality critical to our brands sustainable success because there is so much noise in the form of content on every social media platform that it really is the only way to truly stand out.

 

2. ENSURE THAT CONTENT WRITTEN IS APPEALING FOR YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE.

 

Facebook has a relevance score which tells you how your ads are likely to resonate with your audience and gives you an indication as to what you will have to spend in order for that ad to perform well. As an example, a relevance score of 1 means that the ad is not likely to resonate with your audience. As a result of this, if you choose to go ahead with it, it is likely you will be paying a substantial amount to get any decent traction (which still may not be possible).

Generally speaking a score of approximately 8 is good to aim for and of course to achieve this it is critically important that you produce the right content which is aiming at your ideal target.

* Write down the 5 most common questions you get asked by new prospects.
* What are their main pain points and concerns?
* What is the true cost of these pain points for them?

Every ad should have an appealing offer. Please understand appealing offer does not mean hard sell someone straight away by telling them they “have to sign up within 1 hour or the offer magically disappears.” That is like walking up to someone in the street and asking them if they want to buy your product/service (so you can expect a similar reaction).

It does also not mean sending someone message after message when they didn’t interact with the first “convincing them why they should buy off you a number of times in a row.”
An appealing offer is one that includes actual value which will specifically address the key problem your ideal target is facing.
It needs to be very specific and the language used is critical.

 

4. HAVE A CLEAR CALL TO ACTION INCLUDING THE FOLLOWUP PROCESS.

Make sure that with every ad it is easy for those who are interested to take action. In the digital age people tend to be impatient so if the process of taking action to purchase your products/services is too hard then they are likely to go elsewhere.

Ease of contact is critical as well as having decent follow up procedures in place so that leads can be contacted immediately. Studies done have shown that people contacted within 24 hours are approximately 60% more likely to buy.

 

5. ANALYSE RESULTS AND GET COMFORTABLE WITH BEING ADAPTIVE AND TRYING NEW THINGS.

It is critically important to analyse reach, frequency and conversion and look at what is working well and where there are any gaps. As a general rule we find that after 1 week ads on Facebook tend to get stale and require modification so it is really important that you are comfortable with creating new content and mixing it up!
